Marengo against Genfood

According to EU regulation no. 1829 of 22.September 2003, since the beginning of April 2004 all animal feed which contain genetically changed components have to be compulsory marked accordingly. are sprayed with a carrier to improve transportation and shelf life, although the carriers themselves are produced from genetically changed organisms.Unfortunately, excluded from this compulsory marking, however, are:

  1. Additives, vitamins and flavours, which have been produced using genetically changed micro-organisms.
  2. Enzymes, since they are normally regarded as 'auxiliary substances'
  3. Additives, vitamins and flavours, which are sprayed with a carrier to improve transportation and shelf life, although the carriers themselves are produced from genetically changed organisms.
  4. Additives from breeding grounds (Substratum) used for the breeding/production of genetically changed organisms.
  5. Theoretically, this is a legal loop-hole which could be used to circumvent the necessity to mark synthetic vitamins and additives as containing genetically changed components.

    Marengo offers double security

We guarantee that Marengo dog food does not contain any genetically changed ingredients.

We can also guarantee that, due to our complete rejection of all synthetic ingredients, Marengo Dog Food does not contain any additives, flavours, enzymes or vitamins which have been produced using, marked or unmarked, genetically changed substances.
